Power Quality Problems
There are a large number of power electronic components in medical equipment. The more common equipment are MRI (nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus), CT machine, X-ray machine, DSA (cardiovascular imaging machine) and so on. Among them, MRI will generate radio frequency pulses and alternating magnetic fields to generate nuclear magnetic resonance, and radio frequency pulses and alternating magnetic fields will bring harmonic pollution; the rectifier bridge of high-voltage rectifiers in X-ray machines will generate heavy harmonics when working. In addition, the X-ray machine is an instantaneous load, and the voltage can reach several tens of kilovolts during operation. The primary side of the transformer will increase the instantaneous load of 60~70kw, and will also increase the harmonics of the power grid.
Hazards and Influence
From the above description, we can find that there are many harmonic sources in the power distribution system of the hospital, which will generate a large number of harmonics, seriously pollute the power grid, and cause power quality problems such as excessive harmonics and neutral line harmonic overload. These problems can affect the use of medical equipment.
