YTPQC-AHF Active Harmonic Filter for VSD
Harmonics refer to deviations from the desired model sinusoidal AC line voltage and the current waveforms. These deviations, or harmonic distortions, historically were low in magnitude. However, more recently, there has been a considerable increase attributed to the use of power electronics, non-linear commercial and industrial loads, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). These deviations can influence the optimal performance of your connected devices
YTPQC-AHF Active harmonic correction units are high-performance inverters that measure system harmonics through current transformers and inject harmonics of equal amplitude and opposite phase into the system.
YTPQC-AHF active harmonic filter can help to reduce harmful harmonic distortion caused by variable frequency drives (VFDs) in power systems. VFDs use power electronics to convert incoming AC power into DC power and then back into AC power at variable frequencies to control the speed of electric motors. This switching can create harmonic distortion that can cause problems such as overheating, equipment damage, and interference with other electrical equipment. Active Filter work by actively monitoring the harmonic distortions in the power system and injecting opposite-phase harmonic currents to cancel out the unwanted harmonics. This results in a cleaner, smoother electrical waveform with less distortion and fewer problems.
Benefits of using AHF with VFDs:
1. Improved power quality: AHF mitigate the negative effects of harmonic distortion on the power system, reducing voltage fluctuations, and improving overall power quality.
2. Enhanced equipment reliability: Harmonic distortion can cause equipment damage and reduce the lifespan of motors, transformers, and other electrical components. AHF can help to extend the life of these components by reducing the level of harmonic distortion in the system.
3. Compliance with regulatory standards: Many countries and regions have strict regulatory standards for harmonic distortion levels in power systems. AHF can help to meet these standards and avoid penalties or fines.
4. Energy savings: AHF can also reduce energy losses associated with harmonics, resulting in lower energy bills for businesses and reduced environmental impact.
